User Facilities
In addition to our own equipment, we do a significant amount of characterization and fabrication work in other facilities.
Stanford Nano Shared Facilities (SNSF)
The Stanford Nano Shared Facilities (SNSF) encompasses a number of facilities at Stanford, including a cleanroom with fabrication tools (UV lithography, sputtering, ion milling), x-ray lab for x-ray diffraction and reflectivity, and surface science lab for x-ray photoemission spectroscopy. Other equipment is also available for members to use.
Advanced Light Source (ALS) at LBNL
We regularly do X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy (XAS), X-ray Magnetic Circular Dichroism (XMCD), and other measurements at beamlines 6.3.1 and 4.0.2 of the ALS, which allow us to perform element- and site-specific magnetic characterization.
